Ted Talk Idea's - Mack Haid

Mack Haid - Ted Talk Idea's

The culminating project for leadership is to create and present a Ted talk that is about something you are passionate about and are able to make around a 10-minute presentation around. I have had some ideas but nothing concrete yet just because I don't know if the things that I am thinking of have enough behind them in order for them to be put into a 10-minute presentation. I think a lot of my ideas are good but I am not sure how "executable" they are. Some of my ideas include:
-Leadership in sports
-The importance of sport
-The importance of failure in sport
-The importance of failure
-Something relating to epilepsy

These are all pretty solid ideas but my issue is that I can't overly expand on them. For the leadership in sports, I have a solid understanding and idea because I consider myself a leader and I also play sports at a high level and so I can try to relate it back to my personal experiences and how I have had to lead in sports. With the importance of failure in sports I had similar ideas about talking about personal experience. I then decided to get rid of the sports and just have a broader approach and just to in general. I figured if I  do the importance of failure then I can relate it to sports while also to many other things in life and my life. I have also thought about doing a more personal approach to the ted talk and allow people to get to know me in that light. I think that if I was to do a more serious topic it would be something surrounding epilepsy because it is something that is a big part of my life. I think it might be hard to keep people engaged in that topic. My other fear with that topic is people will obviously not see it as seriously as I see it.

I think that these are all pretty good ideas I just need to execute and find ideas that I can engage people with and have them hooked for those 10 minutes. I think the main thing though throughout all these topics is personal experiences as I think that will lead people in and allow them to connect more to my topic. I think personal experiences can also make someone realize how much I care about the topic because they can see that I have been through that specific thing. In conclusion, I am going to pitch one of those and see what type of feedback I can get and go from there in terms of picking a final topic.
